The Mighty Mac® TPH475 is a PTO-powered wood chipper for tractor owners who want to turn branches, limbs, and woody cleanup debris into usable chips without maintaining a separate engine. Mounted to a Category 1 three-point hitch and powered by your tractor’s PTO, the TPH475 is built for chipping branches up to 4-3/4″ in diameter. It is quick hitch compatible, includes the PTO shaft, and uses a dedicated chipper feed system for processing woody material around farms, rural properties, orchards, and larger residential properties. Choose the TPH475 when you want a tractor-powered wood chipper for branches and limbs. If you also need to shred leaves, garden debris, or mixed organic material, compare it with the TPH123 or TPH185 shredder-chipper models.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row It does not include a shredder hopper for leaves or garden debris. PTO-Powered Operation Uses your tractor’s PTO power, eliminating the need to fuel, start, and maintain another engine on the chipper. Quick Hitch Compatible Designed for Category 1 tractor setups and compatible quick hitch systems, helping make attachment and removal easier. WC475-Style Chipping Capability The TPH475 gives tractor owners the same general chipping role as the engine-driven WC475, but in a 3-point hitch PTO-powered format. Optional High Discharge Kit The optional High Discharge Kit helps direct chips into a truck bed, cart, trailer, or selected discharge area. It is designed primarily for branches, limbs, pruning debris, woody vines, and other material that can be fed into the chipper knife. Branches and Limbs Branches up to 4-3/4″ diameter Tree limbs from pruning and trimming Woody brush and property cleanup debris Storm cleanup material within the rated capacity The dedicated chipper feed system is designed to process branches and woody material into chips for mulch, pathways, landscaping, or disposal. Pruning, Orchard, and Property Cleanup Orchard and tree pruning debris Brush from field edges, fence lines, and wooded areas Branches collected during seasonal cleanup Material staged by tractor bucket, cart, or trailer The TPH475 is a strong fit for tractor owners who already gather and move branches with their tractor and want a PTO-powered chipper to process that material. Wood Chips for Reuse or Disposal Mulch around trees, beds, and landscape areas Pathway and trail material Volume reduction for easier cleanup and disposal Directed discharge with the optional High Discharge Kit The optional High Discharge Kit can help direct chips into a truck bed, cart, trailer, or selected discharge area for easier handling after chipping. Leaves, Twigs, and Mixed Branch Material The TPH475 can process leaves, smaller twigs, and branch ends when they are attached to woody material the chipper can pull into the knife. Operators can also use the next branch to help feed lighter ends into the machine. Loose leaves and soft green material will not be reduced as finely or as consistently as they would be in a shredder-chipper. For heavier leaf, garden, or compost-style cleanup, the TPH123 or TPH185 may be a better fit. What It’s Not Designed For The TPH475 is a dedicated wood chipper. It is designed around branches, limbs, woody vines, pruning debris, and other material that can be fed into the chipper knife. It is not the best choice for loose leaves, grass clippings, soft green vines, compost material, dirt-heavy debris, rocks, metal, trash, stumps, or material beyond the rated chipping capacity. Dimensional lumber can be processed if it can safely reach the chipping knife and fits within the machine’s capacity, but the TPH475 is primarily intended for organic woody property debris, not construction cleanup. If you need to process both branches and bulk organic material like leaves or garden debris, compare the TPH475 with the TPH123 or TPH185 PTO shredder-chipper models.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” top_padding=”30px” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” id=”compare” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=”” gradient_type=”default”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_custom_heading text=”Comparison” font_container=”tag:h3|font_size:30px|text_align:left|color:%2317922a” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=””][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”] TPH475 vs. WC475: Same Chipping Job, Different Power Source and Workflow The TPH475 and the engine-driven WC475 are both built for dedicated wood chipping. They are designed for branches, limbs, pruning debris, and woody material — not bulk leaf or garden waste shredding. The main difference is how the machine is powered, mounted, moved, and used during cleanup. You already own a compatible tractor and want to use PTO power. Primary Use Dedicated wood chipping for branches, limbs, pruning debris, and woody material. Dedicated wood chipping for branches, limbs, pruning debris, and woody material. Power Source Engine mounted on the machine. Tractor PTO. Mounting / Base Standalone machine base. Category 1 three-point hitch tractor attachment. Quick Hitch Compatibility Not applicable. Quick hitch compatible for easier attachment to compatible Category 1 tractor setups. Cleanup Workflow Works well as a central chipping station while a tractor, cart, trailer, or loader brings material to the machine. Works well when the tractor and chipper move together to process material where the cleanup is happening. Two-Person Use A good fit when one person is feeding the chipper and another person is using the tractor to gather, lift, or move branches. A good fit when the tractor can stay dedicated to powering and positioning the chipper. Maintenance Has its own engine to fuel, start, service, and maintain. No separate engine on the chipper to maintain. Mobility Can be positioned and used independently of the tractor. Moves and works with the tractor. Choose the WC475 if you want a self-contained chipper or if your tractor will be used to gather and move material during cleanup. TPH475 PTO Wood Chipper TPH123 / TPH185 PTO Shredder-Chippers Best Choice When Your main job is chipping branches, limbs, and woody material. You need to process both branches and bulk organic material like leaves, brush, garden debris, or compost-style cleanup. Machine Type Dedicated wood chipper. Shredder-chipper combination machine. Mixed cleanup material, including branches plus leaves, brush, stalks, and garden debris. Leaf and Small Twig Cleanup Can process leaves and smaller twigs when attached to branches, but will not reduce loose leafy material as consistently as a shredder-chipper.
