Mid-Century Stylized Child Wall Mount Display Bust

Painted metal display head mounted on a metal wall bracket, modeled with exaggerated mid-century facial features including heavy-lidded "pixie" eyes, a small button nose, rounded cheeks, and stylized swept hair strongly reminiscent of 1950s and early 1960s cartoon and animation aesthetics--a "specific but unidentified" look strongly reminiscent of mid-century Disney or storybook animation styling. The sculpted expression and simplified facial proportions evoke the commercial illustration and mascot design language associated with postwar advertising, department store displays, amusement attractions, and children's retail graphics of the period. Finished in a heavily worn red paint, the hollow metal construction gives the piece a more industrial and fabricated quality beneath its playful stylization. The detached mounting format and extensive surface wear further heighten its surreal and theatrical presence, reading somewhere between commercial display sculpture, folk art object, and carnival prop. Shows heavy wear consistent with age and display use including extensive scratches, abrasions, paint loss, scuffs, dents, and scattered oxidation throughout.
