How do you turn on a dry heat sterilizer? Plug the sterilizer into a power outlet. Press the power button located on the back panel. On the front panel, press the button and use short presses to choose your preferred mode. (For sterilization with craft pouches, do not exceed 180°C.) Once the correct mode is selected, press and hold the button for a few seconds to begin the cycle. Note: The front panel button is not touch-sensitive; it must be physically pressed. 2. How do you properly sterilize manicure tools in a dry heat sterilizer? To sterilize tools using a dry heat sterilizer, follow these steps: Ensure your tools are pre-cleaned and completely dry. Arrange them on the removable tray. Lower the tray into the sterilization chamber and securely close the lid. Use the control buttons to set the appropriate time and temperature for sterilization. Wait for the sterilization cycle to complete. Allow the sterilizer to cool slightly before removing the tools. 3. Does the sterilizer start working immediately, or does it need to heat up? When set to 180°C for 60 minutes, the sterilizer first heats up before starting the countdown. It takes approximately 10–15 minutes to reach 180°C. Only after reaching the set temperature does the timer begin counting down. The same process applies to other modes: 200°C for 30 minutes 160°C for 150 minutes This ensures that tools are properly sterilized under precise conditions. 4. What sterilization modes should I use for trays and craft pouches? For tools placed directly on a tray: 200°C for 30 minutes 180°C for 60 minutes 160°C for 150 minutes For tools sealed in kraft sterilization pouches: 180°C for 60 minutes 160°C for 150 minutes Important: Temperature alone does not ensure complete sterilization—processing time is equally critical. Always adhere to the recommended settings. To confirm successful sterilization, use Class IV indicators. MicroSTOP kraft pouches come with built-in Class IV indicators, either printed on the pouch or provided as stickers. If sterilizing on a tray, you can purchase separate indicator stickers. 5. What is the correct way to sterilize tools after disinfection? Submerge tools in a disinfectant solution following the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse thoroughly under running water. Dry completely, removing any remaining moisture with a paper towel. For faster drying, use the sterilizer’s “drying” mode at 80°C for 30 minutes. Place the fully dried tools into kraft pouches or directly onto the sterilizer tray. Select the appropriate sterilization mode. Once the cycle finishes and the signal sounds, open the sterilizer. Allow it to cool to 20-30°C, then turn it off and unplug the unit. 6. What is the difference between a dry heat sterilizer and an autoclave? Dry heat sterilizers use hot, dry air to kill pathogens at high temperatures (starting at 160°C) over an extended period. Autoclaves use pressurized steam to sterilize tools at lower temperatures (typically 126–135°C). Both methods ensure complete sterilization but operate using different principles. 7. Can I overload the sterilizer or stack pouches on top of each other? Overloading can block the proper circulation of hot air, preventing full sterilization and potentially damaging the sterilizer. To ensure effective sterilization, avoid blocking ventilation areas and do not exceed 70% of the chamber’s capacity. 8. Why does a residue sometimes form inside the sterilizer? A slight odor or residue buildup is normal when using kraft sterilization pouches. These pouches contain resins that release when heated, leaving deposits inside the sterilizer. Regular cleaning prevents accumulation and ensures optimal performance.
