The Microphyte beaded bead resembles a colony of tiny cells, and gets its name from a diverse group of microscopic plants. However, despite its organic look, this beaded bead is built using a defined underlying symmetry. This structure uses the geometry of a cuboctahedron to combine bicone crystals, drop seed beads, peanut-shaped seed beads, and Japanese round seed beads together for an eclectic collection of textures all woven into one beaded bead. The Microphyte beaded bead is an excellent size for a solo pendant or as a focal in a larger necklace. Pattern The Microphyte beading pattern includes: 11 pages of step-by-step instructions. 41 full color illustrations and photographs. Several photos of finished jewelry and design variations. This pattern was written in 2012. Materials To stitch this beaded bead, you'll need: 4mm bicone crystals 3.4mm Miyuki drop beads 2 by 4mm peanut seed beads 15° and 11° Japanese seed beads A 12mm round bead Beading thread (6lb Fireline)
