Microcosm Publishing & Distribution - Cycling Wangdoos

A Six-Person Tandem, a Yak, and a Very Important Lesson About Teamwork The Cycling Wangdoos are a Tibetan racing team with an unusual setup: a six-seater bicycle, riders arranged largest to smallest, and a wacky yak perched on the back. Together they've built an unbeatable winning streak — until the smallest Wangdoo decides he's doing more than his share of the pedaling. His discontent spreads through the team, the race takes a dangerous turn, and the Wangdoos end up with bumps, lumps, and bruised pride to show for it. The lesson lands without being preachy: teams only work when everyone pulls their weight, no matter how small. Written and illustrated by Kelly Pulley — an avid cyclist with over three decades in children's picture books — the story moves in fun rhyming verse that reads aloud easily and holds the attention of young children on repeat readings. The illustrations are full of expression and comic timing, with scenery that gives kids a glimpse of the Tibetan mountain landscape the Wangdoos call home. Endorsed by Kristin Armstrong, three-time Olympic cycling gold medalist. For ages 0–6. A Silly, Speedy Story With a Lesson That Sticks Rhyming text that moves quickly and reads aloud well — suited to both lap reading and classroom use. A six-person tandem bike with a yak mascot on the back: the kind of absurd, specific image kids latch onto and remember.
