With subtle orange-beige undertones, this flat acrylic replicates the sun-worn hues of gear, armor, and uniforms deployed in arid and semi-arid regions. This scheme, which includes Light Tan, Medium Tan, and Flat Brown, was developed to match the dusty ochres and baked sands of Middle Eastern deserts. Medium Tan offers a strong contrast to both the brighter base and darker pattern elements, helping break up the silhouette of vehicles and personnel in hostile terrain. This color was widely used from the 1990s through today: • Featured heavily in the NATO three-color desert camouflage during Operation Desert Storm • Applied to vehicles such as the M60A3, M1 Abrams, HMMWV, and Bradley IFV • Still relevant in modern operations, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and North Africa deployments Modeling Uses • Paint U.S. military vehicles and helicopters with authentic tri-color desert camo • Add depth to figures wearing DCUs (Desert Combat Uniforms) or tactical vests • Ideal for canvas tarps, gear packs, and netting with natural desert fading • Combine with Light Tan, Flat Brown, and Light Gray for multi-layered weathering and sun exposure effects
