MICRO GREEN (PREORDER)

8 oz Micro Green aka "Wei-Lǜ-Ya", "Ya-Miao-Cai", "微绿芽", "芽苗菜", "微綠芽" A microgreen is vegetable green harvested just after the first leaves have developed. Microgreens taste different depending on the variety but are closest in taste and texture to sprouts and young greens. A microgreen is often used in salad, sandwiches, or as garnish. A microgreen is available year-round. Handling Tip Selection Microgreen with bright green seed leaves and white stem. Avoid microgreen that is slimy or with a musty odor. Storage Microgreens should be stored at 32°f (0°c) with a relative humidity of more than ninety-five percent and with no mist. The typical shelf life is less than seven days. High humidity is important to avoid dehydration and dried-out microgreens. High temperatures lead to a rotting and slimy appearance. The microgreen is sensitive to ethylene, a naturally occurring gas that regulates ripening. Do not store microgreens with high ethylene-producing products to extend shelf life. Microgreen produces a low level of ethylene. Microgreens are not sensitive to chilling injury and should be stored as cold as possible without freezing. The freezing point for microgreens is 31°F (-0.4°C).
