Expertly Blended for Density & Diversity: This kit features a robust mix for a thick, resilient lawn: Organic Coated Dutch White Clover (Trifolium repens): Produces abundant white blooms from late spring into fall, serving as a critical nectar source for pollinators, including the monarch butterfly. It outperforms grass in shade, tolerates foot traffic and pets exceptionally well, fixes atmospheric nitrogen (reducing fertilizer needs!), and naturally crowds out weeds like dandelions. Self-Heal (Prunella vulgaris): Offers numerous light purple blooms in early to mid-summer, providing a rich nectar source for a variety of pollinators. It adapts well to diverse light and soil conditions. Creeping Thyme (Thymus serpyllum): Yields charming small pink blooms from mid to late summer, offering another excellent nectar source and thriving in sun to part shade. Complete Kit for Success: Each shaker contains our unique seed blend, plus essential soil builders and a compost booster, engineered for optimal germination and strong root development. Family & Pet Friendly: Our specialized flowering lawn mix is completely safe for your entire family, including kids and pets, ensuring a worry-free and enjoyable outdoor area. Superior Environmental Impact: Embrace a truly climate-friendly lawn that drastically reduces the need for frequent mowing, fertilizing, and excessive watering. Kit Contents: Each Flawn Seed Kit provides everything you need for success: Non-GMO Flowering Lawn Bee Mix Seeds (Dutch White Clover, Self-Heal, Creeping Thyme) Soil Builders Compost Booster What To Expect When Using Flawn Seed: Our seeds are designed to be over-seeded into existing grass for a beautiful half-grass, half-flower lawn. Germination typically occurs in 2-3 weeks with consistent watering, with plants initially remaining small. Once established, your "Flawn" will burst into beautiful blooms throughout summer and fall, offering a continuous nectar and pollen source. For best results, avoid seeding before hot, dry periods and water regularly post-seeding and during dry spells. Seeding is flexible: plant in spring (after thaw, soil ~55°F) or late fall/winter (over frozen ground or fresh snow). If starting with bare soil, add 2-4 lbs of fine fescue grass seed per 1,000 sq ft, or increase our seeding rates for a clover-dominant lawn. How to Seed Your Flawn: Prepare: Mow your existing lawn very short (0.5-1") and lightly rake to expose soil. Spread: Simply shake the jar, waving your arm to cover about a six-foot wide path as you walk. Water: Water lightly but frequently, ensuring the soil and seedlings remain moist without creating runoff. Maintaining a Flawn: Initial Mowing: Continue to mow at 2-3 inches for the first year until all varieties are fully established. This helps prevent existing grass from overshadowing new seedlings. Established Flawn: Once established, your mowing frequency is up to you. Mowing higher and less often will encourage more flowers (from Self-Heal/Thyme) and a wilder, more natural look. Mowing shorter and more often will result in a more traditional lawn appearance with fewer blooms. Pesticide-Free: Do not use pesticide weed or insect killers. Hand-weed if necessary or desired. Fertilizer Needs: Dutch White Clover naturally fixes nitrogen into the ground, significantly minimizing, if not eliminating, the need for additional fertilizer once established. We recommend applying an organic starter fertilizer, especially if you're seeding grass seed in addition to the Flawn Seed Kit. Watering: Once established, your flowering lawn requires much less watering, typically only during extended dry periods. Packaging: Our packaging is fully recyclable, further aligning with our commitment to the environment. Ready to transform your lawn into a lush, thriving ecosystem?
