Michell Gyro (2025)

The Michell Gyro turntable is an evolution of the company's best-selling, and most highly recognized system. Over the decades since its introduction, the Gyro's silhouette became iconic, its sound revered, and its place in high-end analog playback history assured.  This latest Gyro is the most significant improvement in its tenure. This is not a reinvention, but a reimagining of everything beneath the surface. It's a ground-up engineering overhaul that delivers dramatic improvements in performance, usability, and long-term reliability—while staying true to the Gyro's unmistakable form. At the heart of this new Gyro is a complete reworking of the main chassis. Where previous versions used cast aluminium, we now use precision-machined, 19mm aerospace-grade aluminium tooling plate. This material change alone delivers unrivaled accuracy, rigidity, and a low resonance level that was not thought achievable. Embedded brass weights—carefully calculated and positioned—help balance the tonearm assembly while absorbing vibrational energy. Around the tonearm mount, foam damping inserts suppress reflections, ensuring the stylus/vinyl interaction isn't hampered or the fine musical details masked. Gyro's motor system is engineered for absolute stability and silence. The heavy, freestanding motor housing is completely independent from the turntable — its only connection is the drive belt. This physical separation dramatically reduces the transfer of motor vibration to the sensitive playback components, preserving musical detail and clarity. Both the motor unit and its matching power supply are machined from solid billets of aerospace-grade aluminium, forming exceptionally rigid enclosures with minimal gaps to block unwanted RF interference. The entire system is fully grounded and linked via a shielded interconnect, ensuring a pristine signal path and outstanding audio purity. The new and improved Gyro is available bundled with Michelle's own T2A tonearm, with purpose-built arm-board.  The lightweight aluminum arm includes added anti-vibration features within the sleeve and bearing shaft, and is only available in conjunction with a turntable purchase. The system is "semi-assembled" to make it quick and easy to set up. The Michell record clamp and Uni-Cover are included. The turntable can be selected in two colors, and with or without the T2A tonearm.  Please select your preferred package. Gyro Bundle: $8,999 Gyro Bundle, w/TA2 Tonearm: $10,999
