His canvases, reminiscent of virtual realms, are a fusion of his earlier architectural explorations and a deep-seated fascination with computer-generated environments. Graduating with a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2006 and later earning his MFA from American University in 2011, Dotson has honed his craft with a meticulous eye for detail. Now based in Brooklyn, he meticulously reconstructs Disney's beloved characters, sourcing inspiration from classic movies' screenshots. Through his art, Dotson invites us to reimagine the familiar through a digital lens, where glitch becomes a portal to enchantment.
