MicaSense RedEdge-P Dual Multispectral Kit

MicaSense RedEdge-P Dual Multispectral Kit: 10-Band Satellite-Matched Precision for Enterprise Crop Intelligence The MicaSense RedEdge-P Dual Multispectral Kit is a two-camera payload system combining the RedEdge-P and RedEdge-P Blue into a single synchronized assembly that captures 10 narrowband multispectral channels and a 5.1MP panchromatic band simultaneously. Built and assembled in the United States and NDAA compliant, it delivers pan-sharpened outputs at 2 cm per pixel at 60m AGL, matching the spectral coverage of Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2A satellites at a ground resolution those satellites cannot approach. Key Features and Benefits 10-band multispectral coverage: captures coastal blue through near-IR in one synchronized pass. Pan-sharpened output: delivers 2 cm per pixel resolution at 60m AGL via panchromatic band. Coastal blue band: monitors shallow water vegetation and identifies aquatic weeds from the air. Satellite-matched spectral bands: correlates directly with Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2A indices. Dual radiometric calibration: DLS2 light sensor and calibration reflectance panel ensure consistent output. Global shutter design: all 10 lenses use global shutter for distortion-free image capture in flight. 3 images per second: synchronized 10-band capture at 3 raw DNG frames per second. Automatic geotagging: all 10 bands geotag automatically for efficient post-processing workflows. NDAA compliant: manufactured in the U.S.A. for government and institutional program use. Open data format: raw DNG output compatible with Pix4Dmapper for flexible post-processing. Designed for agronomists, precision agriculture service providers, and research institutions, the RedEdge-P Dual captures all 10 bands in a single pass at up to 3 raw DNG images per second, automatically synchronizing capture and geotagging across every band. A dual radiometric calibration system using the included DLS2 downwelling light sensor and calibrated reflectance panel ensures consistent, reliable data output regardless of changing light conditions during a mission. Ten Narrowband Multispectral Channels Most multispectral payloads stop at five bands, which is enough for standard NDVI workflows but leaves gaps in chlorophyll efficiency analysis, early-stage weed detection, and aquatic vegetation monitoring. The RedEdge-P Dual fills those gaps with 10 narrowband channels spanning coastal blue through near-IR, including two red edge bands and two near-IR bands that separate fine spectral distinctions a five-band system would merge into a single reading. At 120m AGL, the multispectral bands produce a 7.7 cm per pixel ground sample distance. The panchromatic band drops that to 3.98 cm at the same altitude, and pan-sharpening brings it to 2 cm at 60m, giving operators the spatial resolution to support machine learning applications like early-stage crop counting that require both spectral depth and image clarity to function accurately. Applications and Use Cases Precision crop monitoring: 10-band spectral data supports NDVI, NDRE, OSAVI, and NIT index generation. Early-stage crop counting: panchromatic band enables machine learning workflows at plant-level resolution. Aquatic and shallow water vegetation: coastal blue band identifies water weeds and submerged plant coverage. Chlorophyll efficiency analysis: dual red edge bands resolve chlorophyll detail a single red edge band cannot. Time-series analysis: dual radiometric calibration maintains data consistency across missions in varying light. Satellite data correlation: spectral bands match Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2A for cross-platform index validation. Research and government programs: NDAA-compliant, U.S.-manufactured sensor used at academic and government institutions worldwide since 2014. The MicaSense RedEdge-P Dual exists for programs that have outgrown five-band multispectral and need the spectral depth, spatial resolution, and data consistency to support advanced analytics, machine learning pipelines, and satellite-correlated time-series work. With 10 synchronized bands, a pan-sharpened 2 cm output, and dual radiometric calibration built into every flight, it is the payload for operations where the data has to hold up under scrutiny.
