MFC Borski’s Bonefish Slider

The MFC Borski’s Bonefish Slider is a versatile flats pattern designed to create subtle surface disturbance and trigger aggressive reaction strikes. Designed by Borski and produced by MFC, this fly combines a buoyant deer hair head with a flowing tail profile, allowing it to push water, glide, and sit just below or on the surface depending on how it’s fished. The result is a unique presentation that stands out from traditional shrimp and crab patterns. This fly excels when fish are cruising or actively hunting in shallow water. The slider-style head creates just enough disturbance to get noticed without being overly aggressive, making it effective for both bonefish and redfish in calm or lightly choppy conditions. Fish it with short strips to create a subtle wake, or let it sit and drift naturally—the movement and profile do the work.
