Mezida - Vintage Distressed Rug - 6'1 X 9'0

This blue hand-woven, one-of-a-kind Anatolian heritage rug features a flatwoven construction with a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave and soft-touch distressed character reveal a ghost-pattern reminiscent of 70s craftsmanship, utilising a cotton-polyester blend to achieve single-piece artisanal sun-bleached tones. About This Style Vintage rugs evoke an antique aesthetic through faded tones, abrash-like colour variations, and surface treatments that mimic mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed styles often feature selectively faded zones and erased pile areas resulting from decades of use or intentional overdying, a process where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion rugs are defined by a dominant central motif—typically circular, oval, or diamond-shaped—which serves as the anchor for the composition, frequently framed by a distinct border in traditional Turkish design. Where It Works The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is ideal for layering over larger carpets. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a deep blue overdyed finish that highlights the intricate, stylised geometric patterns beneath. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, ensuring natural breathability while providing moisture resistance and long-term durability for everyday use. — The no-pile, flatwoven construction ensures the rug remains stable underfoot and is resistant to shedding in busy environments. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Designed for versatility, this piece is fully reversible and safe for use over underfloor heating systems.
