Meze 105 AER Dynamic Open-Back Headphones

Introducing Meze Audio's most accessible open-back headphones - the 105 AER. Based on their popular 109 PRO, the 105 AER brings the detail and warmth of Meze's sound to a wider audience. Why Choose 105 AER? Meze Audio starts every pursuit by listening. They listened to their community and many have asked for a more affordable open-back headphone. Coupled with the learnings from the 109 PRO, Meze is now introducing the 105 AER - their most affordable open-back headphones to date. Priced at $400, the 105 AER is a real value with an unbeatable price-to-performance ratio. How Does It Compare To 109 PRO? The 105 AER features the same beloved headphone structure as the 109 PRO, with the V-shaped double headband & the large and comfortable velour earpads. This headphone features a similar 50mm dual membrane dynamic driver as found in the 109 PRO with some small differences: • The surround is made of PEEK polymer without the Berrylium coating • The dome is the same carbon fiber enforced cellulose composite as the 109 PRO • The frame of the driver is made of ABS instead of the aluminum found in the 109 PRO • The earcups are the same size as the 109 PRO and are made of ABS. Sound/Tuning Carefully tuned by Meze's engineering team, 105 AER offers emotionally engaging sound with great detail, clarity and just the right amount of punch. It’s easy to drive from most devices, either portable sources or intricate home setups. Featuring: • Open back - Big soundstage and good spatiality • Versatile and easy to listen to sound profile • It follows the sound-profile of the 109 PRO with slightly relaxed high frequencies and more sub-bass and bass Design The design language for 105 AER carries a feelng of Art Deco opulence, almost like a work of jewellery masked in a mechanical structure. Sustainability Following their 'design to last' philosophy, Meze created the 105 AER with quality materials and full serviceability in mind, so customers can use this headphone for a long period of time.
