When Should You Replace the Control Arm? A worn control arm, ball joint, or rubber mount can contribute to: Front-end clunking or knocking Steering looseness Uneven tire wear Alignment issues Squeaking or creaking Excessive suspension movement Reduced steering precision Replacing worn suspension components can help restore proper suspension geometry and handling. Installation Professional installation is recommended. Because the control arm is part of the vehicle's suspension geometry, a wheel alignment should be checked after installation.
