Goddess Stone Menilite

Menilite is a greyish-brown form of the mineraloid opal. It's a concretion of silica and calcium carbonate often considered a variety of opal. It is also known as liver opal or leberopal (German), due to its color. It forms in nodules of shale and gypsum, which produces these smooth, bulbous and interesting forms. Impurities can effect the color, but they typically form in a bright, chalky white. It was named in 1795 after the Parisian neighborhood of Ménilmontant where it was first described by the French geologist Jean-Claude Delamétherie. Since it's discovery, it's been found to occur in Spain and Japan as well. There aren’t many details known about menilite’s formation and it represents an understudied area of geology. That alone adds to the mystic surrounding it.  But why is it called a goddess stone? Good question. Goddess statues have been around for centuries, and they have a rich and varied symbolism. In many cultures, goddesses are seen as representations of the divine feminine, and their statues are often used to honor and celebrate the power of women. These stones mimic the form and shape of a Venus figurine from the Upper Palaeolithic period. The earliest of these figurines (The Venus of Willendorf) date back to 19,000 BC! They are not only intriguing examples of early human art, they hold a certain meaning deeper within that stirs the soul. In a lot of ways, these stones carry that same importance about them as the form and curvature leads one to reminisce on Venus figurines and the thoughts of our earliest ancestors.  According to metaphysics: Menalite is an unusual, exceptional stone that is believed to have incredible supernatural abilities that show pure, tender love and care, bringing inspiration. This mysterious stone empowers feminine energy, promotes unconditional love, bears, and showers abundant creation, and is highly beneficial to people on a spiritual journey, spiritual practitioners, and people who lose hope in humanity (So pretty much all of America), are in doubt, and are uninspired.
