The Graveyard of Memory, by David Lawton

Poetry, chapbook, 44 pages, from Bottlecap Features. "'Where the howling absence fills the spaces' is one of the many enduring lines from David Lawton’s new collection, The Graveyard of Memory. This collection challenges us to find the space we need to fill within ourselves to move forward for the good of our own health and the ones we love. Each poem is hand-crafted with howling in mind as your heart crumbles from memory's absence in spite of the moon. 'Why waste time, when it needs to be squandered?'" —Thomas Fucaloro, author of LE(t)GO by Neuronautic Press The graveyard of memory is a good place to lay your head down while your mind takes flight. To the childhood delight of the seaside funhouse and the crumbling beauty in the abandoned  amusement park. The simmering trainyard where you spotted your first graffiti or the traffic clogged overpass where our imagination really learns to grow. Tune in to the game show comedian kibbitzing over the inconceivability of a purple car. Interact with cartoon characters and midnight movie shadow casts. Take a breath in and you may remember the delicate fragrance of Sicilian limes or the stench of toxic waste unearthed in your suburban hometown. David Lawton is the author of the poetry collection Sharp Blue Stream (Three Rooms Press) and chapbook Inspiritive (Moonstone Arts). A graduate of the theatre program at Boston University, David also collaborates with fellow poets Aimee Herman and Eric Alter in their lo-fi DIY antifolk band Hydrogen Junkbox, whose debut album Pixie Dust is now available on most major streaming services.
