Umpqua Melon Quill

The Mellon Quill is a must have color variation for when you must have the right color variation to match the hatch on mayflies. The Umpqua Melon Quill is a versatile and specific dry fly pattern designed to imitate small, light-colored mayflies, primarily the Pale Morning Dun (PMD), but also serving as an excellent Sulfur Dun or Light Cahill imitation. Its signature melon-colored body and segmented quill appearance make it a crucial pattern when trout are keying in on subtle color variations during a hatch. This dry fly should be presented to rising fish using a drag-free drift in the surface film to accurately mimic the emerging or fully hatched adult insect.
