Melling High Performance Valve Spring Shims2002–2026 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram 5.7L Hemi / 6.1L SRT8 / 6.4L 392 / 6.2L Hellcat & Trackhawk Engines 473060HP Overview: The Melling High Performance Chromoly Steel Valve Spring Shims are precision-engineered components designed to optimize valve spring geometry for enhanced valve train performance. Crafted for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles equipped with powerful Hemi and SRT engines, these shims provide the critical spacing needed to maintain proper spring tension and valve operation. Ideal for enthusiasts and professional builders seeking reliable, OEM-quality parts, these shims help ensure consistent engine performance and durability under demanding conditions. Manufactured in the USA, Melling valve spring shims meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer specifications, making them a trusted choice for both new engine builds and performance upgrades. They are essential for maintaining the correct valve spring height and preload, which directly impacts valve timing and overall engine efficiency. Key Features: Designed with precision and durability in mind, the Melling valve spring shims offer the following benefits: Constructed from high-strength chromoly steel for superior wear resistance and longevity Thickness of 0.030 inches (.76 mm) to provide precise valve spring spacing Inside diameter of 0.826 inches (21.00 mm) and outside diameter of 1.259 inches (32.00 mm) for universal fitment across multiple valve spring sizes Engineered to maintain optimal valve spring geometry, enhancing valve train stability and performance Compatible with a wide range of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram engines including 5.7L Hemi, 6.1L SRT8, 6.4L 392, and 6.2L Hellcat & Trackhawk variants Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM standards for reliable, long-lasting service Recommended for use with new retainers to ensure proper installation and performance Made in the USA, ensuring quality control and material integrity Construction & Design: The valve spring shims are precision stamped from premium chromoly steel, a material known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue. This ensures the shims maintain their shape and thickness under the high-stress conditions of a high-performance valve train. The carefully engineered dimensions provide a perfect fit between the valve spring and retainer, preserving the critical geometry needed for consistent valve operation. Each shim features a smooth finish and exact tolerances to prevent premature wear on valve components. The absence of a raised center allows for uniform contact with the spring and retainer, contributing to balanced spring pressure and reducing the risk of valve float or spring failure during aggressive driving or racing conditions. Installation & Fitment: Installation of Melling valve spring shims is straightforward for experienced engine builders and mechanics. These shims are designed to fit a broad range of valve springs used in Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram engines from model years 2002 through 2026. They are compatible with the 5.7L Hemi, 6.1L SRT8, 6.4L 392, and 6.2L Hellcat & Trackhawk engines, covering popular models such as the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Ram 1500/2500/3500 trucks. Melling recommends installing new valve spring retainers alongside these shims to ensure optimal valve train performance and longevity. Proper shim selection and installation are critical to maintaining correct valve spring height and preload, which helps prevent valve train issues and supports engine reliability. What's Included: One (1) Melling High Performance Chromoly Steel Valve Spring Shim, 0.030 inch thicknessIdeal For: This valve spring shim is ideal for automotive enthusiasts, professional engine builders, and performance tuners who demand precision and durability in their valve train components.
