MELISSA was founded in 1979, the brand is recognized in Brazil and around the world for its curatorial work in fashion, art and design, in addition to the innovative development of its key material: plastic. Since then, more than 20 partnership agreements with illustrious names in fashion, design, music and celebrities were signed - Melissa is not just a shoe, it’s a celebration of design. The brand is constantly looking for ways to express new ideas, hence its collaborations with renowned creatives including: Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Thierry Mugler, Jason Wu and Zaha Hadid, to name a few. Melissa is the playground where these artists and designers come to impart their artistic and creative vision within the constraints of a woman’s shoe.During its 35 years in the market, Melissa has embarked on many adventures to reproduce a range of colors, textures, patterns and affects enabling singular touches in plastic. The shoes are also eco-friendly, a matter close to the heart of the brands initiatives. The brand has also created a material called MELFLEX; a form of PVC that provides improved elasticity, impermeability, resistance and comfort. The shoes are injected with an exclusive scent and the concept being fun and colorful.  Celebrating Mickey's 90th birthday we've put a Disney twist on our classic Be sneaker.
