Medusa

The Medusa buckle by Jeff Deegan draws inspiration from Greek mythology and the legend of the beautiful yet doomed Gorgon. Crowned with serpents and endowed with formidable power, Medusa’s gaze was said to turn all who looked upon her to stone. Even after her defeat by Perseus, her image endured — most notably upon the shield of Athena, where it served as a symbol of protection and enduring strength. This interpretation captures that timeless symbolism in sculptural form and features the Skull back bar. Each piece is signed and dated. The Medusa buckle is offered in two variations, allowing the piece to be selected with or without gemstone accents. This custom interpretation of the Medusa buckle is rendered in sterling silver and set with twelve rubies, placed within the eyes of each serpent. The stones, measuring approximately 2–2.5 mm, introduce a subtle depth of color that enhances the sculptural detail while reinforcing the enduring symbolism of strength and protection associated with the Medusa motif.
