Medium Hornworms

Curious about hornworms? These are the larval stage of the Hawk Moth, also known as the Sphinx Moth (Manduca sexta). In nature, they munch on leaves of crops like tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and tobacco, often becoming a nuisance to gardeners. Yet, when raised in captivity, they serve as a nutritious treat for insect-eating and omnivorous reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Each of our cups includes 12-24 tiny hornworms along with sufficient food to help them reach 1.5-2" in under a week. We ship smaller worms to ensure freshness upon arrival, allowing you to control their growth rate. For rapid growth, maintain a temperature above 80 degrees; for standard growth, keep at 72 degrees; or for slower development, store at 50 degrees. Nutritional Breakdown: Moisture — 85% Protein — 9% Fat — 3.1% With a favorable calcium-to-phosphorus ratio, hornworms don’t require calcium dusting before being fed to your pet. Key Reminder: While hornworms can be a regular part of your pet’s diet, they shouldn’t be the sole food source. Balance their intake with higher protein and fiber feeders like those from ReptileSupply.com. Feeding only hornworms may lead to digestive issues like loose stools. Combining them with other feeders creates a well-rounded meal in your pet’s system. WARNING: Do not feed wild hornworms to your pets. The plants they consume in the wild are toxic and can harm your pet! How to Care for Hornworms: The container provided is a complete habitat for your hornworms. Upon arrival, invert the cup so the lid is at the bottom. The worms will climb the mesh to reach their food, while waste collects on the lid for simple cleanup. Ensure the lid has proper ventilation for air circulation. WE PACK OUR CUPS WITH SMALL WORMS FOR MAXIMUM FRESHNESS ON DELIVERY, BUT THEY CAN GROW TO FULL SIZE IN JUST ONE WEEK! WATCHING THEIR RAPID GROWTH IS A DELIGHT!
