Raymond Mighty King Desk Lift-Medium Duty

Overview Not every facility has smooth, level flooring throughout. Carpeted hallways, transition strips between rooms, and slightly uneven surfaces can turn a routine furniture move into a frustrating challenge. This medium duty desk lifter is built to handle those conditions. Equipped with 3″ hard rubber swivel casters and a lift range of 4¾” to 10¼”, it provides the extra ground clearance and rolling performance needed to move loaded desks across surfaces that would bog down a standard-duty unit. Rated at 600 lbs, this desk lifter allows a single person to raise and transport heavy desks, tables, and cabinets without emptying drawers or removing equipment. It is available in three frame widths — 32″, 40″, and 46″ — and is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Features and Benefits The 3″ non-marking hard rubber casters are the primary upgrade over the standard duty series. The larger wheel diameter rolls more smoothly over carpet pile, rubber transition strips, small thresholds, and minor surface imperfections that can cause smaller casters to catch or drag. This makes the medium duty desk lifter the preferred choice for school buildings, older office campuses, and multi-surface facilities where flooring types change from room to room. The lift mechanism raises furniture from 4¾” to 10¼” — providing an additional half inch of clearance compared to the standard model. This extra height is valuable when working with bulkier desk bases, taller leg configurations, or furniture that sits close to the ground. The heavy-gauge steel frame and casting construction deliver a rigid, stable platform that does not flex under load, and the powder-coated finish resists chipping and corrosion from repeated use. The lift frame is coated with Raymond’s signature skid-resistant red vinyl, which grips the underside of the desk to prevent shifting and protects finished surfaces from scratches. An ergonomic handle provides comfortable leverage for one-person operation, and a safety latch automatically locks the desk lifter in the raised position until the operator activates the trip release. Available Widths Model 2300-32 – 32″ Width — Fits standard single-pedestal desks and compact classroom workstations. Unit weight: 43 lbs. Model 2300-40 – 40″ Width — Accommodates most teacher desks, executive desks, and double-pedestal configurations. Unit weight: 44 lbs. Model 2300-46 – 46″ Width — Designed for large executive desks, L-shaped desk bases, and oversized workstations. Unit weight: 46 lbs. All three widths share the same 600 lb load capacity, 4¾” to 10¼” lift range, and 3″ non-marking swivel casters. Select the width that matches the inside span between your desk legs or pedestal supports. Applications School districts with carpeted classrooms and hallways are the most common users of this medium duty desk lifter. Custodial teams can reposition teacher desks, move student furniture between wings, and reconfigure testing layouts without straining against carpet resistance or catching on doorway transitions. The larger casters handle the mixed-surface environments found in most K-12 buildings and university campuses with ease. Office facilities undergoing remodels or tenant improvements also benefit from the upgraded rolling performance. When a building has a mix of carpet, tile, and VCT flooring with transition strips between zones, the 3″ casters maintain smooth movement throughout the entire route. Government buildings, churches, community centers, and hotels with older flooring or slight surface irregularities will find this model more reliable than the standard duty option in day-to-day use. Selection Assistance The medium duty desk lifter is the right choice when your facility has carpeted floors, uneven surfaces, or frequent transitions between flooring types. If your building has smooth, level flooring throughout, the standard duty Model 2000 with 2½” casters will handle the job at the same capacity. For facilities with rough concrete, heavy daily use, or demanding commercial conditions, consider stepping up to the Heavy Duty Model 3500 (3½” casters) or Extra Heavy Duty Model 4000 (4″ casters) for maximum rolling performance. To determine the right frame width, measure the inside distance between the desk legs or pedestal supports. The desk lifter frame needs to fit underneath the furniture with enough room to engage the lift mechanism. Compatible accessories — including the single pedestal adapter (Model 1800) and computer/utility table attachment (Model 1600) — expand the range of furniture types you can move with any Mighty King desk lifter.
