Medieval Ox Horn Spoons

These horn spoons are handcrafted from ethically sourced ox horn, a fully natural and organic material. Because each spoon is shaped from real horn, no two pieces are truly the same. Natural color tones, grain lines, and patterns are formed by nature itself, so every spoon has its own unique look. Horn was used for utensils during Viking and medieval times because it was easily available, strong and simple to shape with basic tools. Unlike metal, horn does not affect the taste of food and is comfortable to hold, during long meals. These qualities made horn an ideal choice for everyday cutlery in the past. Each spoon is carefully polished to a smooth, glossy finish. This makes it pleasant to hold, lightweight in the hand and easy to use. The smooth surface also helps with cleaning and everyday use. These spoons are perfect for reenactment dining, themed events, rustic table settings, or anyone who enjoys historical-style living. Inspired by historical designs, these spoons connect you directly to the past. Whether used as a Viking horn spoon, an antique horn spoon, an ox horn spoon, or a medieval horn spoon, they bring traditional craftsmanship and history to your table. These spoons are perfect for cold or room-temperature foods and liquids. Hot foods should be avoided, as heat can cause horn to warp, crack, or change shape over time. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Wash by hand using cool water and mild soap Do not use dishwashers Avoid hot foods, hot liquids, and soaking for long hours Dry properly after washing Occasionally apply food-safe oil or beeswax to maintain shine Note: Each spoon is handmade from natural horn. Differences in color, pattern, size, and finish are normal.
