Media Blitz - The Germs Story (DVD)Region 2 NTSC Japanese Import Version

This is the story of 4 young punks who sought to out-gun the Sex Pistols, out-pop Iggy and make “Live fast, die young” their personal mantra.  Led by the inimitable frontman Darby Crash, the reckless embodiment of punk rock’s lethal passion, The Germs exploded on the Los Angeles scene like a clusterbomb of drilling guitars and pulverizing rhythms and found instant notoriety in the underground.  Though they released only one album during Crash’s short life (he passed at the tender age of only 22), The Germs have remained a highly influential and crucially important part of rock music history. Germs’ guitarist Pat Smear even found his way into a nice little band from Seattle called Nirvana while drummer Don Bolles went on to found the goth-punk hybrid 45 Grave.  Media Blitz is an impressively original, 2 DVD set retrospective of one of punk rock’s most controversial bands that contains not only a stellar, full-length concert performance as well as numerous rare audio tracks but also includes an exclusive re-telling of the Germs legend by Bolles.  If you are looking for a more comprehensive Germs package, you aren’t going to find it.  Media Blitz is the definitive Germs compilation and a necessary addition to any serious music lover’s collection who has yet to be infected! An impressively original, multi-media retrospective of one of punk rock’s most controversial and hugely influential bands, The Germs! DVD 1 contains a live concert performance of The Germs at The Whisky plus 18 phenomenal tracks, live and studio recordings, which showcases the Germs’ signature harsh, distorted guitars and punishing vocals!
