McIntosh MP100

The McIntosh MP100 Phono Preamplifier is the brand's first dedicated phono preamp, designed to elevate the vinyl listening experience by delivering high-fidelity performance for both new and experienced vinyl enthusiasts. With a focus on preserving the authenticity and clarity of your vinyl collection, the MP100 is packed with features tailored for audiophiles. Key Features: Advanced Phono Inputs and Loading Options: Moving Coil (MC) and Moving Magnet (MM) Inputs: The MP100 accommodates both types of cartridges, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of turntables. Adjustable Loading: It offers 6 settings for both MC and MM inputs, allowing you to fine-tune the preamp to match the specific needs of your cartridge, maximizing sound quality and performance. Flexible Output Options: Balanced and Unbalanced Outputs: The MP100 provides both balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, giving you flexibility in how you integrate it into your audio system. Digital Outputs: Includes optical, coaxial, and USB digital outputs for easy connection to digital devices or systems, allowing for convenient vinyl-to-digital conversion. Mono Switch: A handy Mono switch reduces noise and ensures the signal is properly played when spinning mono records, preserving the integrity of the original recording. Pure Analog Functionality: For those who prefer a purely analog setup, the MP100 allows the digital outputs to be completely disabled and powered down, ensuring no interference with the analog signal path. Vinyl-to-Digital Conversion: With its USB output, the MP100 can be used to “rip” vinyl records to a computer, producing high-quality digital files. The fixed 24-bit/96kHz resolution ensures the full dynamic range of the vinyl is captured, while the clipping indicator warns you of overly loud sections, allowing you to adjust levels to avoid distortion. Compact and Versatile Design: At just 3” tall, the MP100 is compact yet full of features, making it ideal for both small and large audio setups. It shares the 11.5” chassis design with other McIntosh products, such as the MXA80 Integrated Audio System, MHA150 Headphone Amplifier, and MB50 Streaming Audio Player, allowing for a cohesive system appearance. It can also integrate seamlessly into setups with larger, traditional-width components. Conclusion: The McIntosh MP100 Phono Preamplifier is a versatile and feature-packed option for anyone looking to get the most out of their vinyl collection. Whether you are just beginning to explore the world of vinyl or have an established collection, the MP100 offers a wealth of options to enhance sound quality, convert records to digital formats, and seamlessly integrate into a modern audio system. With McIntosh’s trademark attention to detail and performance, the MP100 is sure to bring out the best in your vinyl playback.
