Downey, California, is home to one of the few original McDonald’s restaurants remaining today. The location in this image opened in 1953. The sign features one massive yellow parabola coming out of the ground and a chubby little chef mascot with a hamburger-shape face called Speedee. This sign is one of Downey's main tourist attractions. Photographer Carlos Vargas captured it in 2015.
