A Ceremony plate- painted and glazed pottery, Bohemia, 18th century. The plate was intended to be broken at the end of the engagement meal “vort”. The act of breaking was supposed to drive away pests and vermin. Feuchtwanger Collection, purchased/donated by Baruch and Ruth Rapaport, Geneva.
