Maxxis Re-Fuse Tire / MaxxShield

What Makes the Maxxis Re-Fuse the Best Training Tire? The Maxxis Re-Fuse Gen 2 is a road tire built for riders who put in serious miles without sacrificing speed. A revised tread pattern and updated compound deliver noticeably lower rolling resistance compared to the original, while the MaxxShield puncture protection layer keeps you rolling through glass, debris, and whatever else the road throws at you. The folding bead construction saves weight and simplifies installation compared to a wire bead counterpart. At 700 x 28c, the Re-Fuse fits most road and endurance frames and works equally well as a dedicated training tire or a reliable everyday option for gravel-light routes. The tread compound was reformulated for the Gen 2 to be faster and more durable than its predecessor, making it a legitimate upgrade for riders who burned through the original quickly. Whether you are logging base miles in winter or just want a tire that will not let you down on the commute, the Re-Fuse earns its place on your wheels.
