Maximum Controls - MAX MINI EDGE Low-Profile Safety Edge

Low-Profile Reversing Safety Edge for Swing and Slide Gate Installations The Maximum Controls MAX Mini Edge is a maintenance-free EPDM rubber reversing safety edge for swing and slide gate installations where a small physical footprint is required without compromising entrapment protection performance. Manufactured in Germany and ETL listed, the MAX Mini Edge is built around a copper braid and conductive switching surface housed within a high-isolating outer EPDM shell. When the contact surface is engaged, the internal conductive components trigger gate reversal, stopping movement to reduce the risk of injury or equipment damage. The compact cross-section profile, 15.5mm wide by 9.1mm high, makes it suitable for installations where gate frame clearance limits the use of a larger edge sensor, including posts, columns, and narrow-profile gate hardware where a full-size edge would create a visual or clearance conflict. The MAX Mini Edge uses soft touch engagement and multidirectional sensing to detect contact from multiple angles on the leading edge. Both ends are rainproof sealed, and the operating temperature range of -13°F to +167°F (-25°C to +75°C) covers extreme climate conditions without supplemental weatherproofing. A 48 in aluminum attachment bar is included, and a 15 ft (5M) PUR matte black cable connects the sensor to the gate operator safety input. Key Features Low-profile EPDM rubber construction with copper braid and conductive switching surface for obstruction detection on swing and slide gate installations. Compact cross-section: 15.5mm W x 9.1mm H; suited for narrow gate frames, posts, and clearance-constrained leading edges where a full-size edge sensor is not practical. Soft touch engagement with multidirectional sensing for contact detection from multiple angles. Operates from -13°F to +167°F (-25°C to +75°C); rainproof sealed at both ends for all-weather outdoor installation. 48 in aluminum attachment bar included. 15 ft (5M) PUR matte black cable for connection to gate operator safety input. Maintenance free with no serviceable parts. ETL listed; UL 325 2018 compliant. Technical Specifications Model: MAX Mini Edge Manufacturer: Maximum Controls LLC (Made in Germany) Application: Swing and slide gate leading edge entrapment protection Material: EPDM rubber; high-isolating outer shell with copper braid and conductive switching surface Length: 48 in Profile: SKL 15-10 (15.5mm W x 9.1mm H); AL 15-9 aluminum channel (15mm W x 9mm H) Activation Force: Soft touch engagement Sensing: Multidirectional Operating Temperature: -13°F to +167°F (-25°C to +75°C) Rainproof: Both ends sealed Attachment Hardware: 48 in aluminum bar (included) Cable Length: 5M / 15 ft Cable Material: PUR matte black Maintenance: Free Compliance: UL 325 2018; ETL listed Warranty: 1 year Condition: New Conclusion The MAX Mini Edge is compatible with both swing and slide gate installations. Its compact profile makes it the appropriate choice when gate frame clearance, post width, or aesthetic requirements rule out the MAX Edge 1. As with the MAX Edge 1, confirm operator safety input type (N.C. or 10K) before ordering. For installations where the gate leading edge height exceeds 48 in, additional sensors may be required to achieve full UL 325 2018 Type B2 entrapment protection coverage. Cut Sheet
