Maximum Controls - MAX MEGATRON 1400 HP PRO Swing Gate Operator

High-Profile Brushless Swing Gate Operator w/ Uphill and Wind-Condition Mode The MAX Megatron 1400 HP PRO is a high-profile continuous-duty commercial brushless 24V DC swing gate operator rated for gates up to 1,400 lbs/15 ft or 1,200 lbs/20 ft. It shares the tall-profile enclosure of the 2200 HP PRO (16.81 in W x 24.5 in D x 29.92 in H) while targeting installations where gate weight falls within the 1,400 lb range. A selectable switch for uphill gates and windy conditions addresses site-specific challenges not covered by standard speed adjustment alone. UL 325/991 compliant for Class I, II, III, and IV applications, it operates in temperatures from -4°F to 165°F (-20°C to +74°C) without a heater, including battery performance. The mechanical core is a Size 70, 900:1 dual gear reduction cast iron gearbox with no chains, belts, or pulleys. A brushless DC motor with an integrated Hall Effect encoder tracks over 5,000 rotational positions across 90 degrees of gate travel, feeding adaptive DSP-controlled ramp-up and ramp-down with instant stop and no overcoasting. The 3.25 in solid steel output shaft is secured by a cast iron clamping system that releases under vehicle impact without a shear pin, protecting the operator and preserving limit switch positions. Lightning protection covers 44 channels across all inputs, outputs, and loop connections, rated to 20 kV and 10 kA. Key Features Brushless 24V DC motor with Hall Effect encoder; rated for approximately 6 million cycles / 35,000 operating hours with no torque loss due to aging Size 70, 900:1 cast iron gearbox; bronze gears, synthetic oil bath, direct gear drive with no chains, belts, or pulleys Gate capacity 1,400 lbs/15 ft or 1,200 lbs/20 ft; 16 selectable speed positions Selectable switch for uphill gates and windy conditions; addresses site-specific load challenges beyond standard speed control 3.25 in solid steel output shaft with cast iron clamping system; slips under vehicle impact without shear pin replacement Magic Box low-voltage system (sold separately) powers the operator up to 1,000 ft from the AC source over two 24VDC wires, without battery dependency 44-channel lightning protection rated to 20 kV / 10 kA on all inputs, outputs, and loop connections 12V, 7.0Ah AGM battery backup; minimum 400 cycles; three selectable backup modes; Solar Ready module available Advanced Matrix III controller with USB OBD Black Box; logs 1,000 most recent events, downloadable as a .TXT file Security suite includes tamper alert relay, anti-tailgate loop management, gate disable, audible alarm, partial open recorder, and lockable enclosure 16-position tunable obstruction sensor with dynamic magnetic brake and dual motor overcurrent shut-off Optional Max Cloud App for remote control, user management, guest passes with time restrictions, and event log retrieval via cellular 5-year warranty on all components; 1-year warranty on battery Technical Specifications Manufacturer: Maximum Controls LLC Model: Megatron 1400 HP PRO Gate Type: Swing (single leaf) Motor: Brushless 24V DC with Hall Effect encoder; 1/2 HP AC motor equivalent; ~6 million cycles / 35,000 hours Gearbox: Size 70, 900:1 dual gear reduction; cast iron housing, bronze gears, synthetic oil bath Gate Capacity: 1,400 lbs/15 ft or 1,200 lbs/20 ft Gate Speed: 90-degree opening in 11.5 to 18 seconds; 16 selectable speeds Output Shaft: 3.25 in solid steel with cast iron clamping system Frame: 1/4 in cold rolled steel, fully welded, gold zinc plated Dimensions: 16.81 in W x 24.5 in D x 29.92 in H; arm height 26.61 in Shipping Weight: 235 lbs Input Power: Switchable 115VAC / 6A or 230VAC / 2A, single phase Max Amp Draw: 3.5 to 4.5 A Battery Backup: 12V, 7.0Ah AGM; minimum 400 cycles; three selectable backup modes Remote Power (Magic Box): Sold separately; 24VDC, 2-wire, up to 1,000 ft from AC source; no battery dependency Open Timer: Selectable 0 to 60 seconds; timer-off option Lightning Protection: 44 channels; 20 kV / 10 kA Operating Temperature: -4°F to 165°F (-20°C to +74°C) Event Log: 1,000 events; USB OBD port download as .TXT file Safety Compliance: UL 325/991 Class I, II, III, and IV; CSA approved Duty Cycle: Continuous Warranty: 5 years on components; 1 year on battery Condition: New Conclusion The Megatron 1400 HP PRO is designed for single swing gate applications up to 1,400 lbs/15 ft or 1,200 lbs/20 ft. For heavier gates up to 2,500 lbs/15 ft, see the Megatron 2200 HP PRO. For installations requiring the same capacity in a lower-profile enclosure, see the Megatron 1400 PRO. Dual swing gate installations require two units; the Gate Sync feature coordinates movement between paired operators. Safety sensors required for UL 325 2018 compliance are not included and must be sourced separately. The Magic Box remote power accessory is sold separately. Warranty coverage applies only to units purchased through authorized dealers. Cut Sheet Installation / User Manual
