Cellular Gateway for Max Cloud App Control The Maximum Controls MAX Cell Hub is the hardware component required to enable Max Cloud App functionality on compatible Maximum Controls gate operators. Made in the USA, the Cell Hub connects to the Module Port of the Matrix III or DSP Arm Controller board and provides cellular connectivity via AT&T or Verizon data service, selectable at purchase based on coverage needs. Once installed and activated, the Max Cloud App allows users to issue open and close commands, manage user access, monitor gate status, and retrieve diagnostic data remotely from a smartphone or tablet. The Cell Hub operates on battery backup, remaining functional during power outages. The Cell Hub supports RS485 communication with up to 16 peripheral devices, including Max Keypads and Max Wiegand Converters for card readers, radio receivers, and RFID transponders. All user programming including keycodes, Wiegand device credentials, guest passes, time restrictions, and auto open/close timers is handled through the Max Cloud App rather than a web portal. The app delivers optional real-time text alerts to admin users for gate opening, tamper, and safety sensor failure events, and logs all gate site transactions with timestamps in a searchable event log. A remote error log allows technicians to download the last 20 operator errors and view live diagnostics including input voltage, current draw, and current gate position without being on site. A cellular data plan is required for activation and is available in two tiers: a residential/low-cycle commercial plan at 10MB/month and a commercial high-usage plan at 100MB/month. The SIM card is activated through the Maximum Controls website using the unit's unique IMEI number, with activation typically completing within 2 to 5 minutes. Key Features Connects to the Module Port of the Matrix III or DSP Arm Controller board; compatible with Max PRO series slide gate operators and Max linear actuators. Provides Max Cloud App cellular connectivity via AT&T or Verizon; carrier model selected at purchase for best local coverage. Supports up to 16 RS485 peripheral devices including Max Keypads and Max Wiegand Converters for card readers, radio receivers, and RFID transponders. Remote gate open/close commands issued via dedicated cloud server, not text messaging, for low-latency response. Full user access management through the Max Cloud App: keycodes with time zone restrictions, Wiegand credentials, guest passes with start and expiration dates, and virtual transmitters for over 10,000 app users. Real-time text alerts to admin users on gate opening, tamper events, and safety sensor failures. Event log with timestamps tracks all app commands, keycode entries, Wiegand scans, and programming changes. Remote error log downloads last 20 operator errors with live diagnostics. Four on-board status LEDs (Online, Comm Link, Cell Link, Power) for quick field verification of connectivity and power status. Operates on battery backup during power outages. Two cell data plan tiers: 10MB/month (residential/low-cycle commercial) and 100MB/month (commercial high-usage). Technical Specifications Model: MAX Cell Hub (available in AT&T and Verizon variants) Manufacturer: Maximum Controls LLC (Made in USA) Installation: Connects to Module Port of Matrix III or DSP Arm Controller board Connectivity: AT&T or Verizon cellular (model-specific) Status Indicators: Online, Comm Link, Cell Link, Power LEDs RS485 Peripheral Support: Up to 16 devices (Max Keypads, Max Wiegand Converters) Virtual Transmitters: Over 10,000 app users supported Data Plans: 10MB/month (residential/low-cycle) or 100MB/month (commercial high-usage) SIM Activation: Via Maximum Controls website using unit IMEI number; activation typically completes within 2 to 5 minutes Battery Backup: Yes, operates during power outages Compatible Operators: Max PRO series slide gate operators and Max linear actuators Warranty: 2 years Condition: New Conclusion The MAX Cell Hub is not compatible with the Phantom F6 or 2000 Plus models. A cellular data plan is required and purchased separately at max.us.com. Select the AT&T or Verizon variant based on coverage at the installation site. For pad-mount operators, the Cell Hub mounts on the chassis using Velcro or self-tapping screws. For actuator arm installations, it mounts inside the MAX AC Control Box using a 4 in antenna extension cord and 2 washers (not included) to route the antenna through the enclosure. After connection, the Cell Link LED should blink to confirm active signal; a solid non-blinking Cell Link LED indicates no signal. Installations near metal mesh gates, metal-sided buildings, or hillside terrain may require a high-gain directional antenna to achieve reliable connectivity. The Max Cloud App is available for free download on iOS and Android. Cut Sheet Installation / User Manual
