Maximum Controls Matrix III Control Board for Rhino Models

Genuine OEM Matrix III Control Board for MAX RHINO Industrial Gate Operators The MXR is the genuine OEM Maximum Controls Matrix III control board for the MAX RHINO 4000 FS and MAX RHINO 5500 commercial and industrial brushless DC slide gate operators. Mounted inside the operator housing, the MXR drives the brushless DC motor, manages all gate-cycle logic, interfaces with safety sensors, accessory devices, and access control inputs, and provides the diagnostic and programming interface for the installation. The MXR is the correct factory-sourced replacement when the existing Matrix III board fails due to lightning damage, water intrusion, power surge, or extended service life. Beyond standard motor control, the MXR carries 16-position ERD sensitivity adjustment for both opening and closing directions with independent motor overload monitoring, monitored UL 325 2018 entrapment protection inputs for both Normally Closed and 10K resistor-terminated sensors across Opening, Photo Close, and Open-Close channels, an integrated three-slot loop detector rack for Exit, Center, and Safety loops, and built-in maglock control with adjustable disengagement timing. The on-board LCD display and programming buttons walk the installer through date and time setup, mode configuration, and feature toggles. A USB OBD and Black Box port logs the last 8,000 events to any standard USB flash drive for download to a computer or smartphone, giving installers full event history for field diagnostics. Solar operation is supported natively through the POWER/SOLAR IN terminal with an on-board Solar Mode switch for off-grid installations. Key Features Genuine OEM Matrix III control board exclusive to the Maximum Controls MAX RHINO 4000 FS and MAX RHINO 5500 commercial and industrial brushless DC slide gate operators ETL listed by Intertek (file 4009963) to UL STD 325 (2018 standard); certified to CAN/CSA STD C22.2 No. 247; made in USA 16-position ERD sensitivity adjustment in both opening and closing directions; independent motor overload monitoring Monitored UL 325 2018 entrapment protection inputs for Normally Closed and 10K resistor-terminated sensors across Opening, Photo Close, and Open-Close channels; two monitored entrapment devices required per UL 325 for slide gate operators Integrated three-slot loop detector rack for Exit, Center, and Safety in-ground loops; additional external loop detector input via seven-pin terminal USB OBD and Black Box port logs the last 8,000 timestamped events downloadable to any USB flash drive for field diagnostics without special software RS-485 communication port for wired primary/secondary dual gate configurations; wireless primary/secondary link via DIP switch Built-in maglock relay with 1.5-second or 2.5-second disengagement delay options; Gate Disable input blocks all standard open commands except Fire Department and MAX Open Tamper Alert relay activates on unauthorized forced gate movement; anti-tailgate Quick Close detection built in POWER/SOLAR IN terminal with on-board Solar Mode switch for solar-powered installations Made in USA Technical Specifications Part Number: MXR Compatible Operators: MAX RHINO 4000 FS, MAX RHINO 5500 Gate Type: Slide UL 325 Class: Class III, IV Listing: ETL listed by Intertek, file 4009963, to UL STD 325 (2018); certified to CAN/CSA STD C22.2 No. 247 Input Power: 115VAC or 230VAC selectable via MAX Toroid 15A transformer DC Power Outputs: 12VDC monitored, 24VDC Entrapment Sensor Inputs: OPEN ONLY NC, PHOTO CLS NC, OPEN/CLS NC; OPEN ONLY 10K, CLS ONLY 10K, OPEN/CLS 10K Loop Rack: Exit, Center, Safety; plug-in and external loop detectors supported Dual Gate Communication: RS-485 wired; wireless primary/secondary via DIP switch Solar Input: POWER/SOLAR IN terminal with on-board Solar Mode switch Event Log: Up to 8,000 events via OBD Black Box port, USB flash drive download ERD Sensitivity Positions: 16 per direction, opening and closing independent Battery Backup Modes: Leave Open, Leave Closed, Open 1 Time Origin: Made in USA Manufacturer: Maximum Controls LLC, Fountain Valley, CA Condition: New Genuine OEM Part Conclusion The MXR is not interchangeable with the Matrix III boards used in other Maximum Controls PRO series operators. It is confirmed for use exclusively with the MAX RHINO 4000 FS and MAX RHINO 5500. The MAX RHINO 4000 FS is a Fail Safe operator that back-drives to open on loss of AC power or battery depletion; the MAX RHINO 5500 is a Fail Secure operator. Both are rated UL Class III and IV only. When replacing the board, inspect the motor wiring harness, limit sensor cables, entrapment protection devices, and accessory transformers for damage at the same time, as electrical faults in connected components are a common cause of board failure.
