With the Maxi Move 5, Arjo has reimagined what a modern patient lift can achieve. More than a simple transfer device, it represents a new era of intelligent, ergonomic design focused on improving safety, efficiency, and dignity for both patient and caregiver. The result is a next-generation solution that sets a new benchmark for performance in hospitals, long-term care, and rehabilitation settings. Built around Arjo’s advanced Motion Assist™ technology, the Maxi Move 5 responds intuitively to a caregiver’s touch. The sensitive handle detects natural pushing and pulling forces, helping the lift move smoothly in any direction with less physical strain. This innovation makes patient handling more controlled, predictable, and effortless — even in tight spaces. When combined with the Powered Dynamic Positioning System (PDPS), caregivers can perform precise adjustments and transfers that once required two people, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety. Designed to accommodate a broad range of clinical needs, the Maxi Move 5 is available in models supporting safe working loads of up to 600 pounds (272 kg). Its modular system of interchangeable accessories — from slings and spreader bars to specialized attachments — makes it adaptable to nearly any care scenario. Whether performing routine transfers, assisting rehabilitation movements, or handling complex mobility cases, the Maxi Move 5 offers flexibility without compromise. Patient comfort has been carefully engineered into every aspect of the design. The lift operates quietly and smoothly, with gentle start-and-stop motion to minimize anxiety and sensory overload. Rounded edges and contrasting color cues provide visual reassurance for patients with cognitive impairments, while the ergonomic positioning system helps maintain proper posture during movement. These thoughtful details create a more positive, dignified experience for patients, while allowing caregivers to remain close and engaged throughout the transfer. Hygiene and infection control are also core to the Maxi Move 5’s design philosophy. Its lifting strap features a non-porous coating that resists contamination, and its streamlined construction reduces crevices and surfaces where bacteria can accumulate. Components are easy to remove, clean, and disinfect — a critical advantage in clinical environments where cross-contamination risks are high and time for maintenance is limited. Every movement with the Maxi Move 5 is engineered for precision and safety. The Powered Dynamic Positioning System allows caregivers to align patients accurately without manual repositioning, reducing physical effort and minimizing the risk of strain-related injuries. Dual controls located on both the mast and hand unit give caregivers flexibility to operate the lift from different positions, maintaining eye contact and communication with the patient at all times. The lift’s flexible frame can be configured with standard, low, or extra-low castors, enabling access beneath a variety of beds, stretchers, and trolleys — an essential feature for versatile, real-world use. Clinical testing has demonstrated that the Maxi Move 5 can reduce the cumulative force required for patient transfers by up to 68% compared to traditional devices. This significant reduction in caregiver strain not only helps prevent workplace injuries but also enhances the quality and consistency of patient handling. Fewer physical demands mean more time and energy can be devoted to patient comfort and care outcomes. The integrated weighing scale further improves workflow efficiency, eliminating the need for separate weighing equipment and additional transfers.
