Mavic Aksium III Shoes

Though Velcro and twisty dials long dominated cycling shoe closure systems, the recent return to laces is more than just a nod towards nostalgia. The Mavic Aksium Shoes prove just how comfortable laces on a cycling shoe can be. Being able to tie each section of the shoe to your precise level of tightness makes it possible to micro adjust the fit all up and down the foot in a way that simply isn’t possible with Velcro. And it is a very light system which gives it full marks ahead of a full dial system, which can also offer micro adjustment but at the expense of added weight. The Energy Comp Outsole uses a mixture of fiberglass and nylon to guarantee a rigid sole without requiring an excess of material. It also offers a low profile that places the foot closer to the spindle of the pedal, increasing your pedaling efficiency. The uppers combine ventilation and a secure grip to make sure your foot is well-aired and held in place. There is also an elastic band on the tongue to help keep the laces in place during the ride. For the insoles, which are often woefully under developed in most cycling shoes, the OrthoLite ergonomic insole will feel cushioning and comfortable, conforming to the shape of your foot. The Mavic Aksium Shoes are available in a wide variety of sizes and three color schemes. They will help you feel comfortable and look sharp on rides of all lengths.
