Addition

Product Description Maurten's products have always been flavor-neutral by design — the goal being to minimize ingredients and keep the focus on fuel delivery. But athlete feedback revealed a real pattern: over long efforts, any taste can become a deterrent. It's called flavor fatigue, and it's more of a performance issue than it sounds. When you've been drinking the same thing for four hours and you stop wanting it, you stop drinking it. You push back your next bottle. You skip a serving. Your carbohydrate intake drops. And eventually, your performance follows. Maurten Additions are the fix. One sachet added to your prepared Drink Mix 160 or 320, or 320 CAF and you've got a completely different drinking experience — in Apple, Cola, Menthol, or Orange — without affecting the function of Hydrogel Technology underneath.  Your Fueling System, Your Flavor – Maurten built its entire reputation on removing what isn't necessary. No artificial flavors. No colors. No preservatives. Just the compounds that drive performance. Additions follow that same logic — they exist for one purpose: to help you stay committed to your fueling plan. A Palate Reset When You Need It Most – Flavor fatigue hits differently depending on the athlete and the effort. For ultra runners, it can creep in mid-race. For cyclists grinding through a training block, it builds across weeks. For triathletes, the bike leg can feel like a long road of the same bottle. Additions give you a tool to interrupt that cycle — not by changing what you're fueling with, but by changing how it tastes. Designed for the Hydrogel Ecosystem – Additions are specifically formulated to mix with Maurten Drink Mix without disrupting the hydrogel matrix. That's not a given. Maurten's hydrogel depends on precise ratios and chemistry to form properly in your stomach. Additions were engineered to layer in taste without compromising any of that — so your carb delivery stays on point even when your palate says it needs something different. Note: This is a companion product to Drink Mix — not a standalone fuel source. It's not meant to be mixed with Maurten Bicarb, either. How to Use Maurten Additions Prepare your bottle: Add one sachet of Drink Mix 320, 160, or 320 Caf 100 to 500ml of water. Shake vigorously until fully dissolved. Add your Addition: Pour half the Additions sachet in first and taste. Add more from the sachet until you've hit your preferred flavor intensity. You're in control of how strong it comes through. Shake and fuel: Combine and consume as part of your planned fueling protocol. Use across multiple bottles in a session to manage flavor fatigue throughout the effort. Long-course triathletes, ultra runners, and multi-day cyclists are the athletes who get the most out of Additions — anyone logging the kind of hours where the same neutral bottle starts becoming a mental obstacle. If you've ever found yourself skipping a sip when you should be fueling, this is what Maurten built Additions for. Stop letting taste get between you and your fueling plan.
