Description Matiz from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is a non-superwash aran weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool. This 100% wool yarn is produced from the wool of Portuguese native breeds Campaniça and Merino Preto. It is worsted spun with a pleasant squishy touch that makes it perfect for warm sweaters and cozy cardigans. It is very well suited to textured knitting such as brioche and cables. Grown, scoured, milled and dyed in Portugal. All of their yarns are minimally processed. The wool is sustainably grown, scoured, milled, and dyed in Portugal. None of their yarns are superwash or bleached. Mulesing is not practiced in Portugal.  Rosa Pomar, founder of Retrosaria, studied History at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Visual Arts at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, also in Lisbon. Her work as a researcher and author focuses on traditional Portuguese textile practices, historical knitting techniques and the material culture of wool.
