Matcha Box

Whether you're new to matcha or already have a favorite whisk, this box is built to be your everyday setup. It pairs a high-quality café-grade matcha with the Portland Syrup of your choice, plus everything you need to make a proper latte at home — hot, iced, or topped with a fluffy layer of cold foam. We picked a café-grade matcha — bright green, bolder in flavor, and built to actually hold up when you add milk and syrup. It's the style meant for lattes and iced drinks. What's in the box: 2 oz pouch of café-grade matcha — vibrant green, bold in flavor, ideal for lattes and iced drinks 12 oz Portland Syrup of your choice — hand-picked from our lineup for how well each pairs with matcha Gold Pour Spout — fits the syrup bottle for drip-free pouring Recipe card — matcha latte (hot or iced) on one side, cold foam on the other How to think about the pairings: classics like Vanilla, Hazelnut, or Brown Sugar are the safest introduction. If you're already a matcha regular, try Ube (the electric purple + green makes a stunning drink), Lavender, or Hibiscus Cardamom. Strawberry Lemon-Lime or Marionberry lean the drink toward a café-menu "strawberry matcha" vibe. The cold foam recipe is worth the box on its own. Two minutes with a milk frother and half an ounce of syrup turns a plain matcha into something you'd otherwise pay $7 for. Q: What kind of matcha is in the box? A: Café-grade matcha — brighter, bolder, and made to stand up to milk and syrup. Perfect for lattes, iced drinks, and cold foam. Q: Do I need special equipment? A: A handheld milk frother works great for both mixing the matcha smoothly and making cold foam. A traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) works too. In a pinch, a small mason jar with a lid and a good shake gets you there. Q: Can I use the syrup for other drinks? A: Absolutely. The syrup is a full-size, standard bottle — it works in coffee, tea, cocktails, mocktails, lemonade, and sparkling water too. Q: Which syrup should I pick? A: If you love a classic coffee-shop matcha latte, go Vanilla or Brown Sugar. If you want something more adventurous, try Ube, Lavender, or Hibiscus Cardamom. Every flavor in the dropdown was chosen because it pairs well with matcha — you really can't go wrong. Q: Is this a good gift? A: Yes — it works for the matcha-curious (a proper introduction with everything they need) and for the matcha regular (a well-curated upgrade). The recipe card takes the guesswork out either way.
