#40 master link (connecting link) for #40 roller chain. It has a removable side plate, so you can join or open the chain without a chain press. Sold individually. Use it to close a new drive chain on a slide gate operator or to rejoin chain after a repair. Most installs need one link at each chain bolt. A #40 link will not fit other chain sizes. #40 and #41 share the same 1/2 in pitch but are not interchangeable. A typical slide gate chain uses two master links, one at each chain bolt. Set the quantity to match. Need to change chain length by one pitch? Add a #40 half link. Other master link sizes: #41, #50 and #65.
