Introducing The Ultimate Strap. The Ultimate Strap: You’re looking at a strap that’s been battle tested over the years on multiple DEFY BAGS: The Insidious, Insidious Jr and Recon Mashup to name a few. Many people have said this is their favorite strap ever from DEFY, and even more asked if we’d ever sell it as a stand alone strap for people who want to pair it with other bags they already own. The wait is over!  This Ultimate closed-cell foam padded, MIL-SPEC Ballistic Nylon strap boasts a $30 2" AustriAlpin™ COBRA® Quick-Release Buckle that's capable of holding a thousand pounds and is the same buckle trusted and used by U.S. Special Forces. This is also DEFY’s first ever ambidextrous strap that can be used by both lefties and righties alike. Many customers told us they were 'righties'. Many told us they were 'lefties'. Our team set out to design the ulltimate removable padded strap that can be used by both. This super comfortable, adjustable padded strap has a 2" matte black D ring that (for the first time at DEFY) helps you quickly and precisely adjust your strap length, then gets you on with your mission. The large D ring is also perfect for hanging water bottles from and each straps ample MIL-SPEC MOLLE webbing keeps speakers and other gear on the ready. Our new strap adjustment system cleverly keeps excess slack from flailing about. Yes, we obsessed over this one, but with thousands of happy customers around the world carrying this strap we can say all the hard work was worth it! How it works: Each end of the strap has a simple 2” velcro system that is designed to connect with bags that have existing 2" triglide slider or 2" D-Ring attachment.  *Or if you buy 2" Swivel Hook Add-On will fit most bags with D-Rings PROUDLY HAND-CRAFTED IN THE USA     What is Ballistic Nylon? What we know today as Ballistic Nylon is a multifilament high tenacity, 2X2 basket weave nylon fabric, usually made with 1050D or 840D yarns. The name Ballistic goes back to the Vietnam war era when it was used for anti-fragmentation ballistic jackets for the military. Multiple layers of the thick fabric were laminated together to help stop exploding shrapnel and fragmentation. By the late ’70s the military upgraded their armor to lightweight Kevlar® and ceramic plate technology that could stop actual bullets. Then in the ’80s Ballistic Nylon had found its way into the consumer market. At a time when heavy-duty, strong luggage was the flavour of the day, the term ballistic struck a chord with customers and the name stuck. The slick finish, heavy weave and excellent strength still make it a popular choice today, although as a single layer fabric it’s lost most of its actual ballistic credentials. [ reference: carryology ]
