Martin D-45 1938 Project 91-12 - Natural

Martin D-45 1938 Project 91-12 - Natural    This is an absolute holy grail instrument. The Martin D-45 1938 Project 91-12 is part of an extraordinary, ultra-exclusive run that brings the absolute pinnacle of pre-war acoustic guitar history straight into your hands. Limited to just 91 instruments globally, each guitar in this series is individually linked by serial number to an original 1930s D-45—the legendary "golden era" cannon played by icons like Gene Autry, Stephen Stills, and Neil Young. This specific beauty is individual #12 in the project. Crafted with meticulous attention to historical detail, it embodies the exact spirit, jaw-dropping look, and thunderous projection that made the original pre-war dreadnoughts the most coveted acoustic guitars on the planet. The tonewood selection here is nothing short of mythical. For the top, Martin utilized VTS (Vintage Tone System) treated Adirondack spruce, providing the incredible headroom, snappy response, and "broken-in" resonance of a well-loved 80-year-old vintage instrument. This is paired with rare, gorgeous solid Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides, delivering a deeply complex tonal profile filled with rich, sweeping lows, bell-like highs, and an enchanting overtone series. Under the hood, period-correct, hand-shaped scalloped forward-shifted X bracing ensures maximum top vibration and that legendary bass response that fills a room effortlessly. Every square inch of this masterpiece sings with premium pre-war appointments. From the solid abalone Style 45 snowflake fingerboard inlays and block headstock logo to the grained ivoroid binding, it is visual poetry. The genuine mahogany neck features a period-correct barrel and heel profile that feels substantial and rewarding in your hand. Complete with a thin gloss finish to let the woods breathe and premium Waverly gold engraved butter bean tuners, this is more than just an instrument; it is a piece of living history and a generational heirloom.
