Martin MA240 Bluegrass Guitar Strings

Built for hard picking and fast runs, Martin MA240 Bluegrass strings deliver the bright, punchy tone that flatpickers and traditional acoustic players chase. The bluegrass gauge setup gives you lighter treble strings for easier lead work while keeping heavier bass strings underneath for strong rhythm chops and plenty of volume. That combination makes these strings feel quick and responsive without sounding thin. Martin’s SP construction uses high-tensile core wire with tin-plated protection for improved tuning stability, corrosion resistance, and longer-lasting performance under heavy playing. The 80/20 bronze wrap gives these strings a crisp top end with plenty of projection, helping notes cut through in jam sessions, stage mixes, or around the campfire without getting muddy. Gauge: .012 .016 .025 .035 .045 .056 — a classic bluegrass setup that balances lead-friendly feel with the low-end power acoustic players expect from a Martin set. Whether you’re driving rhythm behind a fiddle tune or digging into aggressive flatpicking runs, the MA240s bring the kind of clear, traditional acoustic tone that feels right at home on a well-played dreadnought.
