Martin D-17

The Martin D-17 is one of the newest additions to the refreshed Standard Series, blending vintage-inspired design with modern refinements in a distinctly warm and woody package. Built entirely from solid mahogany, the D-17 offers a rich, dry voice with impressive midrange presence and a slightly sweeter, more rounded response than traditional spruce-topped dreadnoughts. Its full dreadnought body delivers plenty of volume and projection, making it equally suited for singer-songwriters, flatpickers, and players looking for a more organic, broken-in tonal character right from day one.  Part of Martin's latest Standard Series updates, the D-17 features Golden Era scalloped forward-shifted bracing, a true dovetail neck joint, and several playability improvements that give the instrument an exceptionally resonant and responsive feel. The GE Modified Low Oval neck profile and refined string spacing make it comfortable for long playing sessions, while the understated satin Dark Mahogany finish and vintage-inspired appointments give the guitar a timeless appearance that feels both familiar and fresh.  Specs: D-14 fret body size; solid mahogany top; solid mahogany back and sides; dovetail neck joint; forward shifted GE scalloped X-bracing with 5/16" spruce braces; select hardwood neck; GE Modified Low Oval neck profile with High Performance Taper; ebony fingerboard; GE diamond and square short abalone inlays; 25.4" scale length; 1 3/4" bone nut width; 20 frets; ebony GE modern belly bridge with drop-in compensated bone saddle; bone bridge pins; East Indian rosewood headplate; nickel open gear tuners with butterbean buttons; faux tortoise pickguard; multi-stripe rosette; satin neck finish.
