Marshmallow ( Althaea officinalis)                         Safety Class 1        Interaction class A Family: Mallow family Tendency: Cooling & moisturizing, mucilaginous, nutritious & slightly sweet, demulcent, diuretic, emollient, galactagogue, nutritive, and vulnerary. Traditional Use: antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, demulcent, vulnerary, mild diuretic, antitussive Safe for infants, children, & elderly, Nursing mothers. Soothes mucous membrane irritation Respiratory tract -irritated tissue & swelling, congestion & dry cough, sore throat Urinary tract,(burning)  Kidney (inflammation) & ease passing kidney stones. Nursing: enriches breast milk in nursing mothers.  Healing wounds, sores Inflammation in mouth, throat, stomach, intestines, bladder, kidney & urethra Decrease the growth of gastric ulcers Platelet aggregation Serotonin antagonist Dosages:  *Adult - 40-60 drops (1-2ml) 2-3 times a day.
