Mars Retro Cubed

Is Mars in retrograde? Mercury gets all the retrograde attention, but what about Mars? Mars in retrograde only occurs every 26 months and foreshadows a spectacular event, when Mars is at its closest to Earth and therefore is bigger and brighter than any other time.  Of course, Mercury doesn’t actually move backwards, but the retrograde motion makes it appear – from our Earthly perspective – to reverse its normal west-to-east movement in the sky and start moving east-to-west against the starry backdrop. This is an illusion resulting from the ways Earth and Mars orbit the sun, like two cars on a racetrack, with Earth in the inside lane moving much faster than Mars. In astrology, Mars is associated with action, energy, sex and temperaments. Though it is just a trick of perspective, astrologers believe that Mars retrograde can make people feel lethargic, passive and tense and they often recommend that you try to think before you act – easier said than done with Mars in retrograde! • 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (Heather colors contain polyester) • Fabric weight: 4.2 oz/yd² (142 g/m²) • Pre-shrunk fabric • Side-seamed construction • Shoulder-to-shoulder taping • Blank product sourced from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, or the US
