Marino Marini

Vintage hardback coffee table book, Complete Works of Marino Marini by Herbert Read, Patrick Waldberg, and G. di San Lazzaro. Published by Société Internationale d’Art XXe Siècle, Paris, and Marino Marini, Milan, 1970. First edition, 508 pages. “A monumental catalogue of Marino Marini’s oeuvre, this 500-page volume stands as one of the most significant art publications of the twentieth century. With nearly 1,000 reproductions — including 80 in color printed under the artist’s supervision — it documents Marini’s complete body of work, uniting sculpture, painting, and graphic art in a single comprehensive record. Essays by Herbert Read and Patrick Waldberg offer critical perspectives on Marini’s legacy as the ‘last paladin of Western sculpture,’ revealing his profound dialogue between the mythical and the modern. At once heroic and intimate, this book captures the vigor, sensuality, and timeless rhythm of Marini’s art.”
