The Marimekko Kettle Holder has a padded filling and a hanging loop. It is made of cotton fabric, printed in the Pieni Unikko pattern in red, pink and white. The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time, Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is known as the symbol of Marimekko.
