Marigold - Harlequin

Cheerful, carefree, and impossible to ignore, 'Harlequin' Marigold brings a playful mix of warm golden yellow petals boldly splashed with rich mahogany-red. Each flower seems to have its own unique pattern, creating a lively display that brightens beds, borders, and containers from early summer until frost. Blooming generously with very little encouragement, this old-fashioned favorite combines vintage charm with the dependable performance gardeners have appreciated for generations. Growing 18-24 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide, 'Harlequin' forms a sturdy, upright mound covered in fragrant, fern-like foliage. Plant it in full sun where its vivid blooms can attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators while adding brilliant color to vegetable gardens, cottage borders, or cutting gardens. Regular deadheading keeps fresh flowers coming for months, though the plants remain attractive even during the hottest days of summer. Easy to grow from seed and remarkably adaptable, 'Harlequin' thrives in average, well-drained soil and appreciates moderate watering until established. Once in bloom, it asks for little more than sunshine and the occasional trim. Whether paired with blue salvias, zinnias, or tucked among tomatoes to brighten the vegetable patch, this spirited marigold delivers nonstop color and classic garden appeal all season long.
