Margaret Pendant

Sometimes, heirlooms are lost to time, yet occasionally, pieces find you when you least expect it. This pendant features an image of a brooch with an intricate design sweeping around two large, oval-cut diamonds. The elegant scrollwork weaves around them in a figure-eight or infinity shape. The metalwork is richly detailed with floral and scroll motifs, giving the piece a baroque or rococo feel. The overall style suggests that the original brooch may date from the Victorian era. The combination of the figure-eight motif and the intricate metalwork points to a period when such detailed and symbolic designs were in vogue, around the 1880s to 1890s.
