Stainless steel 18/10 refers to a type of stainless steel alloy containing 18% chromium and 10% nickel. The numbers represent the percentage of these elements in the alloy. On the other hand, stainless steel 18/0 contains 18% chromium and no nickel. The key difference between 18/10 and 18/0 stainless steel lies in the nickel content. Nickel enhances the corrosion resistance and durability of stainless steel. Here are some points highlighting why 18/10 stainless steel is preferred: 1. Corrosion resistance: Nickel provides superior corrosion resistance, making 18/10 stainless steel more resistant to rust, staining, and pitting than 18/0 steel. 2. Durability: The presence of nickel improves the strength and durability of stainless steel, making 18/10 more robust and resistant to deformation or bending compared to 18/0. 3. Luster and appearance: The nickel content contributes to a brighter and more lustrous finish, giving 18/10 stainless steel a polished and attractive appearance. 4. Maintenance and cleaning: The higher nickel content in 18/10 stainless steel makes it easier to clean and maintain, as it is less prone to discoloration or tarnishing. In summary, stainless steel 18/10 is considered superior to 18/0 due to its increased corrosion resistance, durability, luster, and easier maintenance. At DANIALLI, we exclusively use the highest quality 18/10 Stainless Steel for all our products.
